Hello and welcome to Cardiff Open. We’re now settled into our new home at the Llandaff Campus and are delighted with the feedback we’ve had from our students so we’re excited to launch our new programme for Spring 2015.
Cardiff Metropolitan University Choral Group
We’re seeking expressions of interest from all of you with a passion for singing.
We’re planning to launch a choral group, as part of the Cardiff Open programme, that will be open to the public and to the University’s staff and students. The group’s initial programme will be a mixed repertoire, aimed at those who enjoy their singing.
The first performances will be at the University’s Llandaff and Cyncoed Campuses. The ability to sight read music would be helpful but it isn’t essential.
Please let me know if you’d like further information on the choral group – we’re very much looking forward to the first rehearsals in Spring 2015.
We’re running our core programme again that includes Painting, Drawing, Life Drawing, Photography and Pottery classes but we’re now offering a wider range of short courses too.
We’re delighted that Fab Lab Manager Martijn Gommeren is now running introductory workshops on 3D Printing, laser cutting, vinyl cutting and CNC milling. These provide a great way of finding out more about new technology and getting an insight into what you might be able to do with it whether as someone experimenting with product design or to incorporatre into your art practice. Martijn will also be running several Saturday courses on the InDesign software package.
It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced artist or designer, are preparing a portfolio to apply for a degree or Foundation programme or if you’ve never picked up a pencil before, we’ve got something to offer you so the courses and workshops are a great way of trying out new skills or for further developing your practice.
To sign up for our mailing list and receive updates on our programme of courses, email your contact details to Anna Staples firstname.lastname@example.org
