Areas of responsibility

Senior School Administrator I grew up in a very scenic village in North Devon, where I spent most of my early childhood wearing metal rollerskates strapped to my wellies, causing havoc on the streets. At the age of seven I fell over whilst wearing my metal rollerskates and broke my front teeth, putting an end to my dream of becoming a professional skater and dancing with Torvill and Dean. I did however gain a lovely pair of false teeth! My first experience of working within the Education Sector was at North Devon College where I started my admin career as a Modern Apprentice. I remained at North Devon College for five years. This experience gave me a valuable insight into the ever changing environment within the public sector and the enthusiasm to continue with my career as a professional administrator within Education. In September 2005 I moved to Cardiff and joined Cardiff School of Art & Design as Programme Secretary in Llandaff. In August 2006 I was re-located to Howard Gardens to take on the role as PA to the Dean of the School, where I’ve been ever since! I am a member of the Association of University Administrators which promotes excellence in higher education management. I thoroughly enjoy working in the education sector and being part of an amazing School. The buzzing atmosphere of new students every year makes the building come alive and it’s great to be part of this. My spare time is mainly taken up by running around a muddy field trying to catch my horse, Flo! When I get the chance I enjoy going out for dinner, long walks on the beach, and watching the sunset from Caerphilly Mountain.
